ACI Coatings Paint Warranty

As the purchaser of an ACI Coatings Home Painting Project, you receive a five-year warranty on labor and materials for your residential paint project. This warranty begins on the date of completion of the project and continues for five (5) years thereafter. This warranty applies only to the labor and materials provided directly by ACI Coatings. Any portion of the project performed by the homeowner or a third party is expressly excluded from coverage.

The warranty for the paint is covered exclusively under the manufacturer’s warranty provided by Sherwin-Williams. All claims related to product performance must be made directly under Sherwin-Williams’ warranty terms and conditions.

What is a Paint Failure?
A paint failure occurs when paint or coatings applied to a building surface does not perform as intended from a functional or protective standpoint. This includes:

Protective failures – when the coating no longer shields the surface, resulting in issues such as moisture intrusion, corrosion, rot, or surface deterioration.
Performance issues – such as loss of adhesion, poor durability, or incompatibility with underlying materials.

What is the remedy?
If a paint failure occurs, ACI Coatings will provide the labor and materials necessary to correct the condition at no cost to the original owner or transferee. ACI Coatings’ responsibility under this warranty is limited to correcting the above conditions. ACI Coatings’ total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to this warranty shall not exceed the total contract price actually paid by the customer, except as otherwise required by applicable law.

To obtain service under this warranty, customers must provide written notice of the claimed defect and must include reasonable documentation such as photographs, videos, or detailed descriptions of the condition and permit ACI Coatings to access the full property as necessary to inspect the claim

Exclusions: This warranty does not cover the following conditions and situations.
Consequential or incidental damages caused by accident, abuse, normal wear and tear, temperature changes, settlement, or moisture (e.g., nail pops, cracks from expansion/contraction).
Previously repaired cracks – these will be properly repaired at the time of service but are not warrantied.
Painted or stained horizontal walking surfaces (decks, floors, steps).
Dirt, grime, mold, or mildew accumulation.
Stained surfaces, due to their natural characteristics.
Paint failure caused by rotted wood, structural defects, moisture intrusion, failure of prior coatings, or insect infestation.
Color fading.
Minor differences in paint color that may occur when performing warranty work.
Acts of God, including but not limited to severe weather events such as hail, windstorms, floods, forest fire, or other natural disasters.
Vandalism, misuse, or intentional damage.
Repairs, alterations, or modifications made after project completion.

Transferability: Our warranty stays with your home, even if you sell it.

Insurance & Licensing: For your protection, ACI Coatings is insured with liability coverage. Workers’ compensation insurance is carried through Washington State Labor & Industries.
